Mike Robinson is a lifelong photographer with a passion for nature and the outdoors. Five years ago he retired from a career as a physician and moved to Wapiti, Wyoming to pursue his dream of full time nature photography.
Wapiti is a small community about 20 miles outside Yellowstone National Park. Located in the magnificent Shoshone River valley, Wapiti is surrounded by 4 million acres of designated wildness where Mike spends most of his time hunting with his camera. In the last year alone he spent over 70 days photographing in Yellowstone National Park.
He and two friends recently opened Yellowstone West Gallery in downtown Cody, WY where his prints are available. This summer, his plans include a trip to Lake Clark National Park to photograph Alaskan bears, in addition to many days photographing in Yellowstone country.
